A new class begins Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., starting February 18! Brian Irwin will be leading an introduction to the Enneagram in Room 1 of the Education Wing for any interested adults.
The Enneagram is often described as a personality typing system, but it is primarily a spiritual wisdom tool and as such is one the clearest and most accurate methods available for understanding ourselves and others. The insight the Enneagram offers can change our lives and the lives of those around us.
The Enneagram comes from the Greek word “ennea” meaning nine; therefore there are nine different personality types in this system. The types aren’t so much about what we do, but why we do what we do. The Enneagram proposes that each of us has primary motivations that coincide with one of the nine personality types. Thus we discover why some persons are easier to understand and accept while knowing others presents a challenge.
The gift the Ennegram has to offer is that it reveals how we see the world and it shows us how we can grow toward a more compassionate understanding of ourselves and others.
