I think I need to offer one point of clarification from Sunday’s sermon. I spoke about how the news cycle will eventually drop one story of massive import to cover some political gaffe. I specifically named Donald Trump because he has dominated the news cycle for years by saying incredibly hateful, harmful or stupid things. It’s not a Democrat/Republican issue, I promise. I should have just gone the MacBeth route — we abandon the real work of justice to focus on that which is told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. But I digress into the political arena now.
This Sunday, we’ll be starting a series on Christian ethics in the election season. We’ll look at four planks on God’s platform made known in Jesus Christ — a chicken in every pot, strong foreign policy, bigger government and special interest groups. And we’ll be figuring out together how to live in this reign while building the next. Don’t worry. It won’t get political. I promise. I look forward to seeing you Sunday.
