This Sunday, the Rev. Caroline Hamilton-Arnold will be joining us in worship, and preaching the second week of our Capital Campaign. Rev.
Hamilton-Arnold is the Associate Director for Week of Compassion, the joint UCC-DOC global outreach and response ministry. When there is a hurricane, an earthquake, a tornado, or another disaster, Week of Compassion is there. When there is destruction and chaos, and what is wrongly called an Act of God, anywhere in the world, Week of Compassion is there. They equip first responders and communities, they educate and proclamate what’s going on to congregations and the world, and they take the resources we donate and put them to the best possible use.
You should not be surprised that Caroline is preaching on hope, right?
I look forward to this Sunday, too, because Caroline and I have been friends for a few years and I get to take her out to lunch after service. I look forward to seeing you, and Caroline, then.
