Ending our month-long series on the arts in worship with an emphasis on making noise and being loud is an honor and a privilege for a person whose volume dial is stuck on 11. While God certainly shows up in the still, quiet spaces, sometimes the appropriate response requires singing, dancing and shouting. This Sunday, John has been preparing special ways for the congregation to participate in some of the hymns, and I have been thinking about what it means to live a life that is full of singing, dancing, and making noise; all for the glory of God! This Sunday is packed full of opportunities for music, fun and fellowship, from morning worship, an after-church potluck, to Jazz Vespers and Game Night in the evening. I look forward to seeing everyone at each opportunity to sing both with-in the sanctuary and outside of it.
