This coming Sunday promises to be a day of celebration at Midway Hills. In the context of the liturgical year, it will be the final Sunday before beginning a new year with the first Sunday of Advent on November 29. We will welcome members of the Project Linus group as we take time to bless blankets that they have made in the past year. The scripture readings will remind us that God is with us and God is for us. It will be a time of rejoicing and delighting in God’s presence and a time of being nourished by Word and Sacrament.
Following worship we will move to Community Hall where we will continue to be nourished by good food and good company at the Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner. I hope you’ll join us as we sing a few Thanksgiving hymns, bless a bunch of blankets, hear words of hope and promise, share a celebratory meal, and consider how best to respond to God’s abundantly generous love.
