I’ve selected two rather peculiar texts to preach from for this upcoming Sunday. Part of that is because we are a peculiar church, and because the act of taking Earth day Sunday seriously is a commitment of our church that I want to honor and move forward. I chose Psalm 65 because it is a hymn to God, thanking God for the amazing creation of the earth. I chose Revelation 22:1-7 because it is about the river of life, a metaphor for God’s sustaining power to provide food, liquid nourishment, and medicine for the healing of the nations. But what do we do when this river of life is starting to collect trash on the side of it and it’s PH levels aren’t reading at the healthy level? Join us Sunday to find out!
