Frank Martin is leading a new adult Sunday School class. The name of the class is The Least of These (LoT) Class based on what Frank claims as one of his foundational scriptures in the New Testament: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me,” (Matthew 25:40, 45, NIV). The class meets from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. in the conference room. The current study is Sanctuary. The class is using “Sanctuary Syllabus, 12.5.2017” which is a 14 week study of all aspects of sanctuary. All participants are encouraged to read as many of the reading resources as they can find on the Internet for that weeks discussion.
Our study is dealing with the following larger questions: 1) Why Sanctuary?, 2) Who Needs Sanctuary?, and finally 3) How Do We Organize Sanctuary in Precarious Times. So are the readings we have discussed have been very thought provoking. We have enjoyed good discussion and like in all Disciple classes that I have been a part of, we find there are things we agree on and things we disagree on. For me I have found much growth in our sharing of our different understands of these very complex concerns.
Please note: The class will not meet this Sunday, February 11. Our next class session will be on February 18 when we will be discussing Week 5 “No Raids, No Broken Windows:” Police * State Violence”. Please consider joining us.
