Mission & Vision
Be Inclusive
We aim for inclusiveness in all senses of the word and connect ourselves with communities who align with our core values for creating a better world. We open our doors to all who need us regardless of their membership, race, orientation, or abilities. Midway Hills currently hosts on campus the following groups and organizations: Al-Anon, Casa de Abba Church, Dallas Co-Op Preschool, Dallas County Master Gardeners, Girl Scouts, Project Linus, Primary Purpose Group (AA), Sugar Beet Kitchen, and Workers Defense Project. Midway Hills’ direct ministries include: Alternative Christmas and our Harvest Festival.
Do Justice
MHCC has a long history of social justice, and passionately participates in a variety of issues. We are rapidly becoming a North Texas/DFW hub for advocacy and training opportunities, sharing resources in immigration/refugee faith rooted organizing. The ministry goal of Becoming Beloved is to engage in the work of dismantling systemic racism through the lens of immigration justice and refugee resettlement issues. By empowering the most affected communities and forming personal relationships, our attitudes and shared common experiences will transform us, both individually and communally. Including but not limited to: Refugee Resettlement, Asylum Seeker Hospitality, Faith in Texas, and Bail Fund (Freedom Fridays).
Embrace Diversity
As well as our original vision of embracing diversity from all backgrounds, we want to become the heart of our community here in North Dallas. Crossings229 was created to align Midway Hills’ existing building use vision for organizations and to incorporate new ideas and projects, expanding to reflect the needs our evolving community, especially the needs of individuals. We are thinking creatively and strategically to build supportive relationships and provide resources for our neighbors (and for our congregation). Crossings229 includes open spaces for co working and meetings, classrooms for small groups, and stunning gardens for photography or reflection. Our facilities boast a newly renovated commercial kitchen and hall with tables and chairs that can be configured to suit any event needs. Including: Free Co Working Spaces, Prayer Walk/Gardens, a Little Free Library, Banned Book Sanctuary, and more offerings to come.
Cultivate Fellowship
At Midway Hills, we focus on creating disciples as followers of Jesus. We also seek to strengthen our bonds to one another by encouraging fellowship and care among our members, visitors, and out in the greater world. Some of these ministries include: Christian Adult Fellowship (CAF), Wednesday Bible Study, Ladies’ Lunch, Men’s Breakfast, Adult Sunday School, Choir and Music Ministry, Children’s Church, Kids Connect, Youth Service Trip, and Youth Gatherings.
